Ocean Drive
Quinns Rock
This beautiful, modern home was designed to take full advantage of panoramic ocean views across to Rottnest and Fremantle. Bill and Glenis had owned the block for many years, and had long looked forward to building their dream home here to enjoy their retirement.
Although the home appears to be three storeys high from the front, it is actually arranged over five different levels, each level accessed from an internal elevator. Architect Erwin Beamel has created a highly innovative design which deals with the challenges of a sloping block, while maintaining symmetry and grandeur.
The entrance to the home centres on a magnificent spiral staircase fitted with beautiful curved glass, custom-made for the purpose. The unusual swirled marble floors provide the backdrop to a striking stone sculpture of an Arabian horse.
Each floor is designed to take maximal advantage of the uninterrupted ocean views, with floor-to-ceiling commercial glass windows and bi-fold doors leading out to large balconies, each fitted with beautiful cedar rooves. The kitchen and main living area are on the top floor to take advantage of the best views in the house.
Bill and Glenis are extremely pleased with their finished home, the realisation of a dream they have had for many years.
